“Maffeo” born in memory of “Maffeo Eberardo Lenotti”, ancestor of the Lenotti Family. He was a renowned dealer that at the end of the 18th century traded the typical products of our area (olive-oil, corn, grape and wine) supplying nobles and patricians, together with messes and refectories of many monasteries and churches of our area. From old letters of that period we can textually read (old Italian language): “lo sobrio nettar d’oro fino del Maffeo riconforta l’animo, l’ingegno aguzza e fa l’ uomo magnanimo. Quant’è miglior diletto versarlo dentro il petto?” (the sober golden nectar of the Maffeo reconfigures the soul, it sharp the intelligence and makes the man magnanimous. How much better is it to put it into your chest? “).
It seemed to us right to pay homage to this eminent personage that already so much time ago believed in the typical products of our area and we dedicated this exquisite wine to him.
